All of us have been moved by music, by laughter or the sound of a warm voice. All of us have been touched by the sound of the sea, or of birdsong or of the soft purring of a cat. In all these cases a big part of our response was to the tone of the sound and how we responded to it.
We live in a sea of sound. Sound waves, both those audible and those not within our hearing range, surround us every second of every day. Vibrating at different frequencies as they are created, reverberate, diminish and interact. These sounds, both audible and inaudible to the human ear, are not only perceived by the ear but can be felt in every cell of the physical body.
When we use sound in sound healing we are working to trigger a relaxation response. This is the opposite side of the coin to our ‘fight or flight’ response to ease us away from our normal over-stimulated state. This helps to calm the endless over-production of adrenalin and alleviate symptoms of chronic stress. As with all deeply relaxing therapies this can allow us to release tensions, stress and emotions we may have been holding on to or suppressing for some time. In some cases these stresses link to particular traumas which can be relatively recent or much older as we help harmonise the bio-field and chakras.

Sound Healing touches us on a cellular level and promotes the activation of Qi, helping our life force energy flow freely around the body, as we relax and de-stress. It can also help balance the nervous system by aligning the right and left brain, thus improving cognition and clear thinking.
