The good news is that there are many things you can do to make your workplace a happier, healthier place to be. Changes can range from some quick and easy fixes to more long term projects addressing deeper issues. The ultimate aim is to make a difference for the better.

At Archway Health Hub, and in conjunction with the Healthy Workplace Programme, we can offer advice, strategies and action to help you create a workplace where wellbeing is a top priority.

There are two main areas to address:

Physical stress

How you sit, work, move, how your work station is laid out, the environment and how you manage your time in the workplace all have a huge impact on your body.  Looking at your environment with a practised eye, evaluating layout, looking at seating, lighting and ventilation and learning the best patterns for managing your posture and movement can all have a majorly positive impact on physical and emotional stress.

This is such a common problem that one of our chiropractors, Tracy Dixon-Maynard has set up Positura.  Positura is a business focusing on helping companies comply with the health and safety regulations governing the use of display screen equipment, address issues regarding posture and movement in the workplace, and on lessening the financial burden of work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

Emotional stress

Just as significant as physical stress, but often ignored due to the pressure to ‘just get on it’, emotional stress is major cause of physical symptoms such as headaches or stiff shoulders.  Learning some very simple mindfulness techniques can help you cope with your stress, manage it better and diminish its impact.
