What is Ayurveda?

(Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge).
The sister science of yoga, Ayurveda is a 4,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India, it is a science of life which reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.

An Ayurvedic diet & lifestyle consultation gives the client the opportunity to access Ayurvedic techniques to stay on top of their health to reduce any symptoms of dietary intolerance, allergies or even as an antidote to weight management. Diet & lifestyle advice is interwoven into your feedback after an in-depth consultation to help cultivate optimum vitality & well-being.

Who is Ayurveda for?

Aimee works with a long list of clients with varying aliments and medical conditions, here are just some of the conditions listed below; arthritis, inflammation, weight management, stress, fatigue and burnout, anxiety, depression, menstrual imbalances, irregular periods, fertility, menopausal issues, digestive disorders, Irritable Bowel Syndrome – IBS, diabetes, skin conditions, eczema, psoriasis, asthma, M.E and Chronic Fatigue syndrome, Insomnia, neuromuscular disease, weight loss, self esteem & low confidence, and emotional issues such as Grief & separation.

What to expect

You will arrive to a welcoming and private space. You will be asked a series of questions relating to your health, lifestyle and well-being. This is the most important part of building your therapy plan, please know that your disclosure is welcomed but not forced and that you can have confidence that anything mentioned is treated professionally and kept completely confidential and secure. From this initial consultation I will tailor the session to meet your needs and share yogic remedies and techniques to help resolve the presenting issue/s in order to help support and guide you towards optimal vitality. There is not a ‘one-fix-all’ approach to healing so with this in mind my focus is to meet your needs and to individually personalise your experience.

Do I need to stop medications and doctor visits?

Clients are encouraged to work along side their medication and GP, it can be very dangerous to suddenly stop taking medication without the help and guidance of your doctor. The ayurvedic therapy plan shared can antidote and support or balance any side effects of the drugs you may be already taking and lower the amount of medication the client has to take. Via the clients doctors guidance, eventually they may be able to avoid the need of medications all together. Ayurveda helps to empower the individual to take control of their own healing, to spot the signs of a relapse before it happens and replace the need to reach for a higher dose of medication with an alternative approach.

How many sessions will I need?

After your first initial 90 minute consultation you will immediately be given techniques and guidance to start you off on your journey of healing. Your detailed therapy plan will be emailed to you and from here a follow-up session is recommended.

Follow up sessions are £48 for 1 hour
