This December we’re very happy to welcome Henna Pinches to the team at Archway Health Hub. Over the years we’ve become well known for our range of high quality Pilates classes for all ages and abilities and we know that Henna will add to that success with her sensitive and strength-based approach to the practice of Pilates.Archway Pilates instructor Henna Pinches

A focus on movement

Henna first discovered Pilates when she began training as a professional dancer. After benefiting from the hugely positive changes to her posture and alignment that Pilates brought her, she decided to train as a Pilates instructor in order to teach other people how to feel better both mentally and physically through the regular practice of Pilates. As a dancer, Henna applies her love of movement and expertise in dance to all her classes.

Is this the right class for me?

Although Henna comes from a dance career that took her all over the world, there is no need to have a talent for or interest in dancing in order to take part in her classes. Henna will be teaching beginners, improvers and advanced Pilates classes at Archway on Monday and Wednesday evenings from Monday 7th January, meaning that there is a class suitable for every stage of the Pilates journey.

Henna incorporates a sense of precision into every session she teaches and she is qualified in both mat work and equipment Pilates. She has a special interest in both pre and post-natal Pilates but her strength-based classes at Archway are designed for men and women of any age to participate in.

What are the benefits of Pilates?

As you progress with your Pilates practice, you will notice a considerable improvement in your core strength. Pilates can bring physical benefits including increased bone density to everyone, but it is particularly beneficial to people suffering from sports injuries, back problems and pregnant women. The Pilates focus on breathing increases lung capacity and blood circulation and brings mental health benefits, including better sleep and the reduction of stress.

What do I need to bring?

No special equipment is needed to do Pilates. We recommend you wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle and a mat. Also, if you haven’t taken a Pilates class at Archway Health Hub before, you must attend the beginner’s course or take a 1:1 session with Henna or one of our other Pilates instructors before you start your new class at Archway.

Just like our other Pilates teachers, Henna restricts the class number to just 12 people so that she can give everyone the attention they need.

How do I sign up for Pilates with Henna?

You can book Henna’s Pilates classes here.  We are confident that Henna’s classes will prove popular, however, as a new instructor not only is Henna offering 6 classes for the price of 5 to anyone who registers before midday on January 7th. She is also offering a full refund to anyone who would like one on completion of their first class.
