Latest News Painkillers are helping to create millions of headaches

Doctors have said that up to a million people in the U.K. have completely preventable severe headaches, that is caused by taking too many painkillers, and that some people were trapped in a vicious cycle of taking pain relief, which then caused even more headaches.

The warning came as part of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence's (NICE) first guidelines for treating headaches. It is also recommending acupuncture in some circumstances.

Practitioners Blog An exciting Archway project… The Archway Herb Garden

The Archway Herb Garden is a new project which aims to show off some of the herbs used both past and present for traditional herbal medicines. It will be a source of information used in future talks and plant studies, and also a thing of beauty. As a herbalist it is important to me to share plant knowledge and hopefully this garden project will plant the seed of an idea that every one could have a herb garden at home.

Practitioners Blog The biggest misconception in Healthcare . . .

pills . . . is that Healthcare is an event not a process. The NHS was established to give people who were ill access to treatment. It was never set up to take care of your health just to treat your illness. Unfortunately an unwanted side effect of the NHS is that as it has grown and made more and more treatments available that as a nation people have taken less and less responsibility for their health to the point that now, decades later, we see illness as something that happens to us, an event not a process.
