If you are long-time client of Archway you may remember me from my years there, and might even wonder what I’m up to now.

Well, I have set up a new business that helps people in a workplace (mainly office) environment – but we can come back to that in a moment.

In 1998 I qualified as a chiropractor, and joined Archway House in 2012 after 10 years at a clinic in Northampton. During my time working in clinical practice I became acutely aware of the number of people suffering work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

After carrying out many workstation assessments for patients I decided to expand this service further. I trained as a display screen equipment (DSE) risk assessor and have now set up Positura, my ergonomic and health assessment company.

The aim with Positura is to help businesses lessen the financial burden of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, which are estimated to result in over 9 million lost working days per year.

For an employer, carrying out workstation assessments ensures compliance with health and safety legislation, governing the use of DSE. But it also helps to create better posture at work, leading to an increase in employee well-being and productivity.

With the added benefit of my diagnostic skills and extensive knowledge of the musculoskeletal system, I can offer a more in-depth service to companies or individuals when carrying out assessments, to help improve health within the workplace. Assessments can be carried out simply to comply with the regulations, to prevent the onset of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, or to help a member of staff who may already be suffering from work-related aches and pains.
